February 3, 2026 Eric Miller

The story of Andrew Farhat is one of formation shaped by family heritage, academic discipline, theological study, and sustained service within the Christian church. Across each stage of life, the path of Andrew Farhat reflects continuity between early influences and later pastoral leadership.

Andrew Farhat was born in 1980 in Seattle, Washington, to Bill and Ferial Farhat, Lebanese immigrants who established a new life in the United States after fleeing the Lebanese Civil War. The immigrant experience of perseverance and rebuilding formed an important backdrop for the early years of Andrew Farhat, who was raised in the Lake City neighborhood of Seattle.

During childhood and adolescence, Andrew Farhat demonstrated strong commitment to both academics and athletics. Education played a central role in daily life, and competitive sports became an arena where discipline and teamwork developed. By middle school, Andrew Farhat had earned recognition as the Most Valuable Player on a basketball team, including a notable game scoring 42 points against Villa Academy.

High school years continued this pattern of achievement. Andrew Farhat earned varsity positions in football, basketball, and baseball by sophomore year. In junior year, Andrew Farhat received league recognition as Second Team All-Metro Quarterback and was voted team Most Valuable Player by teammates at Nathan Hale High School. These experiences contributed to leadership development and personal discipline that would later influence ministry leadership.

Aunque Andrew Farhat attended St. Matthew’s Catholic Church during youth, faith was not an active component of daily life during adolescence. High school and college years were marked by substance use and a party-centered lifestyle. Despite social activity and external success, Andrew Farhat experienced internal dissatisfaction and a growing sense of disconnection.

Durante college, pivotal events redirected the course of Andrew Farhat. A traffic stop resulting in a night in jail prompted serious reflection. Shortly thereafter, a severe car accident narrowly avoided fatal consequences. These experiences marked a season of questioning and searching for meaning in the life of Andrew Farhat.

Around 2000, Andrew Farhat began attending The Inn at University Presbyterian Church in Seattle. The environment emphasized teaching that engaged both reason and faith. Through reading Letters from a Skeptic and participating in group Bible study, Andrew Farhat explored Christian claims related to the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the nature of evil.

Through engagement with Scripture and Christian teaching, God gave Andrew Farhat a new beginning, and faith. This turning point reshaped priorities and direction. Christian belief became central to the identity and future of Andrew Farhat, establishing the foundation for vocational discernment.

As faith deepened, Andrew Farhat pursued study of the Bible alongside church history and the writings of early Christian leaders. Questions regarding denominational identity led Andrew Farhat to examine Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant traditions. Through study of the Apostle Paul, the Gospel of John, and Reformation history, Andrew Farhat became convinced of the Lutheran tradition’s emphasis on Scripture and the Gospel of grace.

While studying electrical engineering at the University of Washington, Andrew Farhat volunteered as a leader at The Inn and participated in mission trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Mentorship played an important role during this period. Advisors encouraged Andrew Farhat to complete academic training before entering ministry. In 2002, Andrew Farhat graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Following graduation, Andrew Farhat accepted employment with the United States Navy in Bremerton, Washington. For three years, Andrew Farhat worked in this role while continuing to discern a call to ministry. During this time, vocational direction toward pastoral leadership became increasingly clear.

Marriage marked a significant personal and vocational milestone for Andrew Farhat. After a period of prayer, Andrew Farhat met Daisy through online dating. Shared vision and mutual interest in ministry shaped the relationship. The couple married in December 2004, establishing a partnership that would support future ministry endeavors.

In 2005, Andrew Farhat and Daisy relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where Andrew Farhat enrolled at Concordia Seminary. Seminary education emphasized biblical languages, theology, and church history. Andrew Farhat excelled academically, particularly in Greek and historical theology, and graduated in 2009 with a Master of Divinity degree.

The first pastoral call for Andrew Farhat was to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Roseburg, Oregon. The congregation faced financial instability, internal division, and unresolved conflict. During the first year of leadership by Andrew Farhat, the church achieved financial health, implemented structured eldership, and renewed focus on outreach. Conflict resolution efforts led to reconciliation and restored relationships.

In 2018, Andrew Farhat received a Divine Call to serve as campus pastor at the Wash Park site of St. John’s Lutheran Church and School in Denver. St. John’s operates as a multi-site ministry serving both church and school communities. From 2020 to 2021, Andrew Farhat completed the Senior Leader Track certification through the Pastoral Leadership Institute.

In 2021, following the departure of the previous lead pastor, Andrew Farhat was called to serve as Lead Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church and School. Under the leadership of Andrew Farhat, the ministry continues to focus on preaching, teaching, outreach, and global mission partnerships across multiple countries.

Media ministry has also played a role in the work of Andrew Farhat. Sermons delivered by Andrew Farhat are available on podcast platforms. From 2022 to 2024, Andrew Farhat co-hosted the podcast Transformed alongside Daisy and members of the church staff, producing approximately 90 episodes addressing Christian life and faith.

Today, Andrew Farhat resides in Denver with Daisy and their four children. Outside pastoral responsibilities, Andrew Farhat enjoys walking, biking, hiking, snowboarding, and following NFL football. Family life and community involvement remain central components of daily life.
